PESEWA ("we", "our", "us") operates the PESEWA marketplace platform accessible at pesewa.app and through our mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your phone number, name, profile photo, and role (buyer, seller, or rider).

Location Data: We collect your device location to show nearby listings, calculate delivery distances, and verify pickup/delivery locations. Location is only collected when you grant permission.

Transaction Data: We store order details, payment amounts, wallet balances, and transaction history to facilitate marketplace operations.

Messages: We store messages exchanged between buyers and sellers to facilitate transactions. Messages are only visible to conversation participants.

Device Information: We collect push notification tokens to deliver notifications about orders, messages, and platform updates.

Riders: Delivery riders see pickup and dropoff locations for orders they accept
Payment processors: We share necessary data with payment providers (Paystack, mobile money) to process transactions
SMS providers: Phone numbers are shared with Twilio for OTP verification
Push notifications: We use OneSignal to deliver push notifications
Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's global infrastructure. We use encryption for data in transit (HTTPS) and implement access controls to protect your information. Wallet transactions are signed for tamper detection.

5. Your Rights

Access: You can view your data through your account settings
Correction: You can update your profile information at any time
Deletion: You can request account deletion at pesewa.app/deletemyaccount
Notifications: You can disable push notifications through your browser settings

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are kept for 2 years for dispute resolution and legal compliance. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

PESEWA is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
